## Resource

The 2027 Ashes schedule is reshuffled thanks to a 2023 venue swap — Southampton missed out on hosting Australia, but got £1 million in compensation, earning them the 2027 Test instead. Headingley and Old Trafford are skipped this time. Colin Graves, who chaired the cricket board then and now leads Yorkshire (which owns Headingley), insists he wasn’t involved in the original decision. The board ditched bidding for a fairer rotation system, agreed by all clubs. From 2031, the north will host at least one men’s Ashes Test annually; Southampton gets every-other-series men’s Tests, while Headingley hosts the only women’s Ashes Test next year.
