## Resource

This reflective address emphasizes the profound importance of intercessory prayer and the spirit of service within the Christian community. Drawing from the Gospel of Luke, I highlight how Jesus healed Simon’s mother-in-law, noting that her immediate response to recovery was to serve others. This biblical narrative is paired with a modern account of a Navy SEAL’s survival, illustrating how collective prayer can support those in desperate situations. I further stress the pivotal role of priests and the need to protect them through spiritual devotion. Ultimately, the homily encourages believers to use their God-given health or time to act as “prayer warriors” for the benefit of the entire church. Underpinning these lessons is Christ's universal mission, as he refused to remain in one place so he could share his message with all people.
