## Resource

This homily addresses the proper understanding of religiouslaws by contrasting rigid legalism with the primacy of charity. I highlight the selfless example of Mother Teresa, who gave up her own bed to a new sister to demonstrate that human needs supersede personal comfort. Turning to the Gospel of Luke, the narrative explains how Jesus defended his disciples for picking grain on the Sabbath, arguing against the nitpicking restrictions imposed by religious authorities. The message emphasizes that there is a hierarchy of importance in spiritual practice, in which the obligation to sustain life and show mercy takes precedence over ritualistic rest. Ultimately, the reflection teaches that Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath, possessing the divine authority to prioritize compassion over overbearing regulations. Such a perspective encourages a faith that is reasonable and accessible rather than an exhausting burden of impossible demands.
