## Resource

Houston Rockets face an uphill battle in the NBA awards race—can Reed Sheppard secure Sixth Man of the Year honors and will Amen Thompson break through as a Defensive Player of the Year contender? Host Jackson Gatlin (@JTGatlin) sizes up the Rockets’ best chances for individual trophies, examining Thompson’s case against heavyweights like Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren, and whether the 65-game rule could open the door for Houston’s young defender. Spotlights shine on Sheppard’s evolving role as Houston’s offensive spark plug off the bench, his synergy with Steven Adams, and the fire gained from last year’s playoff disappointment. Plus, hear why Most Improved Player remains a longshot for Thompson and which roster improvements could boost his statistical leap. Are voters ready to reward a non-big for defensive dominance, and could the Rockets find themselves celebrating a surprise award winner? Find out which storylines to watch all season long.
