## Resource

Houston Rockets face a pivotal season as Reed Sheppard eyes a breakout role while Fred VanVleet enters the final year of his contract. Can Sheppard prove he’s the point guard of the future and reshape Houston’s backcourt alongside Amen Thompson? Host Jackson Gatlin (@JTGatlin) breaks down the scenarios the Rockets must consider, from roster finances and potential trades to the defensive improvements needed around Alperen Sengun and Kevin Durant. Key topics include the transformation possible with Steven Adams’ return, the impact of Marcus Smart as a stopgap, and critical rotation decisions that could determine the team’s postseason ceiling. Listener mailbag highlights debates over trades with teams like the Thunder and Hawks, the odds of acquiring Al Horford, and whether the Rockets are true contenders or still developing. How far can this Rockets squad go in the loaded Western Conference—and will internal chemistry or outside moves spark a legitimate run at the NBA title?
