## Resource

Houston Rockets lock in Amen Thompson with a five-year, $208 million rookie-scale extension—could this prove to be one of the NBA’s most team-friendly superstar deals? Host Jackson Gatlin (@JTGatlin) examines how Thompson’s elite defense, versatility, and burgeoning offensive role compare to NBA peers like Jalen Suggs, Evan Mobley, and Chet Holmgren, highlighting the contract’s value measured by both salary cap percentage and on-court impact. Is Amen Thompson poised to outperform his new deal and solidify himself as a perennial All-Star and Defensive Player of the Year threat? The conversation covers Rafael Stone’s front office strategy, the flexibility Thompson’s and Alperen Sengun’s contracts give the organization, and the ripple effects for potential future moves—including the intrigue around Ausar Thompson and the possibility of the Thompson twins reuniting. Don’t miss this deep dive into how Houston’s roster construction could shape the Rockets' path back to contention.
