## Resource

Disney Imagineering has introduced one of its most ambitious new Audio-Animatronics in years—but not everyone is celebrating. This week, we dive into Disneyland's new transforming pirate inside Pirates of the Caribbean, a figure that blends traditional Audio-Animatronics with cutting-edge projection mapping to create an effect unlike anything Disney has attempted before. But is this a genuine Imagineering breakthrough… or has Disney crossed a line? We explore how the new technology works, our thoughts on this idea, and discuss some of the surprising criticism from longtime Disney fans. Does the new scene enhance the story, or does it disrupt the eerie atmosphere that has defined the attraction for generations? Are projection-mapped faces the future of Disney attractions, or are they replacing the physical artistry that made Audio-Animatronics legendary? Plus, we imagine where this technology could appear next—from Villains Land to Monstropolis—and debate whether this innovation belongs in classic attractions at all. Join us as we separate nostalgia from innovation and ask the ultimate question: Is this the future of Imagineering, or technology in the wrong place? Join the conversation and let us know what you think! Civil discussions encouraged.
