## Resource

A circus act at the Orange County Fair in Middletown, New York, turned deadly when a crossbow sharpshooter accidentally shot his partner, Edwin Cuervo Rangel, in the neck. Though the injury was serious, it missed major arteries and was likened to an ear piercing. Rangel, 38, was airlifted to the hospital, received stitches, and was released the next day. The show was canceled that night but resumed Saturday as usual—minus the crossbow act for now. A sobering reminder that even in controlled environments, accidents can happen—and sometimes, the show must go on.
