## Resource

Border Patrol releases chilling new footage of migrants emerging from underground tunnels near El Paso, revealing a hidden war beneath the surface. A major human-smuggling tunnel—built by the CJNG cartel—was uncovered last year and linked to a guilty plea from Luis Carlos Davalos-Lopez, who faces up to ten years for his role in trafficking people, drugs, and guns. Smugglers charged migrants $30,000 to use the tunnel, exposing the lucrative underworld operating through subterranean routes. While the videos don’t directly tie to this case, they underscore how smugglers exploit existing infrastructure to bypass border controls—posing a persistent enforcement challenge. Joint Task Force Alpha continues its crackdown, securing hundreds of arrests as agencies race to dismantle these sophisticated networks before they grow even deeper.
