## Resource

A teen in Bryan just got the max sentence for shooting a police officer in 2025—20 years for aggravated assault, plus 10 for deadly conduct, 10 for tampering with evidence, and 2 for stealing a gun. After pleading guilty, McMiller’s case unfolded in court with testimony from cops, jail staff, family, and himself. The chaos began when an unmarked cop spotted McMiller with a gun that had an extended magazine. Before the officer could identify himself, McMiller opened fire—firing at least 20 rounds that hit the officer’s arm, shattered cars, and even entered a nearby apartment. Other officers rushed to help, and the officer recovered fully within a month. McMiller was later caught hiding under a structure, having dumped the weapon and magazine in the woods during his escape.
