## Resource

Phillip Smith, director of percussion at South Plains College, has earned global recognition by being elected to the prestigious Percussive Arts Society Drum Set Committee — a rare honor held by less than one percent of drummers. With decades of PAS membership and a proven track record mentoring students to international conventions, Smith’s appointment underscores his leadership in percussion education and his commitment to elevating the next generation of drummers on the world stage.
