## Resource

Lubbock, Texas, made a heroic move this August by cutting its water usage for nine days to help struggling neighbor Amarillo, whose reservoir hit a perilous 52% capacity. As part of the Canadian River Municipal Water Authority, Lubbock and Amarillo — the region’s biggest water users — agreed to share resources, with Lubbock slashing five million gallons daily. The gesture underscores powerful regional cooperation, with Amarillo officials pledging reciprocity. Lubbock also draws from Lake Alan Henry and local wells, boasting robust reserves capable of delivering over 72 million gallons daily without tapping main storage. This spirit of collaboration proves vital in drought times, blending smart management with community solidarity.
