## Resource

Lubbock County’s in chaos after paying two people for the same commissioner job—Mark Meurer, appointed to fill a seat vacated by Jason Corley, is still getting paid even after Corley was reinstated. The situation spiraled when Corley demanded a Texas Rangers investigation into payroll irregularities, sparking legal battles and court appeals still pending as of October 13th. With no clear resolution yet, the county’s leadership is caught in a tangled web of appointments, lawsuits, and questionable paychecks.
