## Resource

Lubbock County’s political waters are roiling after Mark Meurer, temporarily appointed Precinct 2 Commissioner, admits he kept salary payments even after the original commissioner returned to office — claiming he was told by the judge to hold onto the money while legal matters unfolded. Now under investigation by the District Attorney for dual pay violations, Meurer insists he never intended to profit and has set aside the funds in a separate account. He’s stepping back from the legal battle over the seat and is currently hospitalized for a throat procedure. Meanwhile, county commissioners are considering a resolution to request Texas Rangers involvement — not as an accusation, but to get an independent audit of county finances. The controversy shows no signs of cooling down. Listen in comfort: Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
