## Resource

The EU is cracking down on social media’s grip on kids, proposing a total ban for under-13s and “mini accounts” for teens 13–15, all under parental supervision. This bold move aims to block addictive content and data exploitation, sparking global debate—and potential clashes with Big Tech. Critics say it’s too little, too late, as platforms will likely find ways to lure younger users once they hit the age limits. Still, the EU’s push joins a worldwide effort to make the internet safer for children, including controversial ideas like disabling algorithms—setting the stage for a tech showdown.
