## Resource

College football’s season kickoff is in jeopardy as a major legal showdown erupts over whether athletes who’ve signed NFL contracts can still play in the SEC. A Louisiana judge has temporarily blocked the conference’s new rule banning such players, sparking immediate tension between schools like LSU and the league’s leadership. The athletes argue they deserve to play college ball, while the SEC warns it may punish teams if the ban is overturned — all while preparing for a pivotal court hearing that could reshape athlete eligibility rules across college sports.
