## Resource

A Baton Rouge judge is set to decide whether former NFL players who exhausted their eligibility under old NCAA rules can return to LSU — sparking a high-stakes legal battle that could shake college football’s foundation. Two players with NFL preseason experience are suing for an extra year under the new five-year eligibility window, while the SEC and NCAA push back with bans targeting any player who signed an NFL contract or appeared on an NFL roster. LSU and the players have countered by getting the SEC blocked via a restraining order, and LSU’s coach confirmed one player is already practicing — though game eligibility remains uncertain. The conference vows to enforce its ban if ordered by the court, but other schools are reportedly weighing expulsion — though many doubt it’ll happen. With the fate of college football’s eligibility rules hanging in the balance, all eyes are on this one judge’s ruling today.
