## Resource

Aaron Donald’s return to the Rams’ lineup for the season opener has NFL insiders buzzing — especially Kyle Shanahan, who admits he’s not surprised by the hype. After last year’s emotional retirement celebration, this comeback feels like a full-circle moment, with Donald still packing the kind of destructive power that makes the 49ers quake. His career stats are elite — 10 Pro Bowls, 3 DPOYs, Rookie of the Year — but his record against San Francisco? A brutal 5-13, with no wins in the regular season since 2018. The Rams haven’t beaten SF in nine straight games with Donald on the field, though they did win a playoff matchup after the 2021 season. And while they’ve won three of their last four against SF, those came after Donald retired — making this season’s showdown feel even more loaded. Donald’s been back at practice alongside Myles Garrett (also rehabbing), hinting at a potent defensive duo. With key additions and a renewed focus, the Rams want to break the trend — starting with a statement win in Week 1.
