## Resource

Kelela drops her third album, “New Avatar,” a dark, dystopian sonic world blending electronic R&B, shoegaze, and grunge—produced by Oscar Scheller—to explore intimacy, truth, and emotional refuge in chaotic times. Returning to L.A., where she once sold solar panels to fund her first apartment, she channels that grit into a record that bridges Black alternative music fans and her R&B roots. The album’s cathartic energy spills into her “New Avatar Live” tour, kicking off in L.A. with rave-inspired shows designed for collective release. Just three years after “Raven,” this is Kelela’s most confident, mature statement yet—boldly tackling emotional labor and boundaries with razor-sharp clarity.
