## Resource

Andrew Scott’s haunting new film “Elsinore” premiered at Telluride, weaving a tender, triumphant portrait of Ian Charleson — the real-life actor who died just weeks after delivering a legendary Hamlet performance while secretly battling AIDS. Scott, himself a gay Hamlet actor, channels Charleson’s fierce dedication and quiet tragedy, honoring the artist’s courage to live fully despite societal silence. The film balances sorrow with wit, rejecting rigid genres to mirror life’s messy beauty — a tribute to art as both armor and catharsis, rooted in Scott’s own journey from shy schoolboy Tin Man to fearless storyteller.
