## Resource

Photographer Sam Comen captured 274 portraits in just three days at the Santa Monica Pier for his project “Afterglow,” showcasing the diverse faces of locals and global travelers against the iconic backdrop where LA meets the Pacific. Now on display in the historic Merry Go-Round building, the free exhibition runs through September 30 and invites visitors to connect with the stories behind each image — part of the City’s Art of Recovery initiative to revitalize community spirit through art. Comen’s acclaimed work, featured by institutions like the Library of Congress and LACMA, continues his mission to document the human stories that define America.
