## Resource

The Kings are weighing their next captain after Anze Kopitar, with head coach Peter Laviolette opting for three alternate captains to start the season—giving players like Adrian Kempe a chance to step up. Kempe, already a top scorer and Team MVP, has shown leadership on and off the ice, learned from Kopitar, and locked in a long-term future with an eight-year extension. While veteran Drew Doughty brings respect and history, Kempe’s consistent performance, rising influence, and commitment make him the clear frontrunner to lead the team into the future.
