## Resource

Chargers’ season opener ended in a 26-14 loss to the Cardinals, but the real story? Star wide receiver Ladd McConkey went down with a rib injury in the third quarter and is now day-to-day. Coach Jim Harbaugh says he’s being monitored closely — if he can’t go against the Raiders, the thin receiving corps will need Quentin Johnston and Tre Harris to step up. The good news? It doesn’t sound like a long-term issue. Meanwhile, the Raiders are getting a boost: Pro Bowl tight end Brock Bowers is expected back for his debut, recovering faster than anticipated — a major challenge for Chargers’ defense that struggled mightily against the pass last week.
