## Resource

Genesis Smith is making his mark in the Chargers’ secondary, earning significant snaps alongside Tony Jefferson in Week 1 despite being a rookie. With RJ Mickens inactive, Smith seized the opportunity, recording four tackles and lining up in multiple roles — including free safety and slot — proving he can make plays all over the field. Concerns about his tackling ability appear to be fading, and while Mickens remains a key option, Smith has clearly earned a major role for now.
