## Resource

Former Chancellor George Osborne warns the UK economy has plummeted since Brexit, calling it a “cliff” fall and insisting Britain is poorer than it would have been. He argues rejoining the EU’s customs union — a move quietly sidelined in Brexit talks — could revive trade and economic growth. Osborne downplays hopes of big deals with countries like the U.S., stressing that reconnecting with Europe and boosting investment are now critical. Notably, he suggests even figures like Andy Burnham might support this step, as it avoids the contentious issue of free movement while offering tangible economic benefits.
