## Resource

Reform UK’s latest political storm centers on a £72 million crypto donation spree by billionaires Christopher Harborne and Ben Delo — raising urgent legal questions as new election rules loom. With a March 25 cutoff for overseas voter caps, the key is whether these men were deemed UK residents before then. While Reform UK insists donations are fully legal, details remain murky: Delo’s residency appears long-standing, but Harborne’s status is uncertain. Ministers are poised to tighten residency rules via the upcoming election bill, potentially tying them to tax residency standards — and if found non-compliant, donors could face repayment and even criminal charges.
