## Resource

A London couple’s heartbreakingly botched adoption journey ended in emotional whiplash and professional fallout after they were told to prepare for a child’s arrival—only for the whole thing to vanish. Having already bought baby gear, taken a year off work, and met the child, they were blindsided when councils pulled the plug. Hounslow Council had pushed them into final steps to avoid another foster placement, but poor communication, no clear travel cost coverage, and chaotic record-keeping left them scrambling. The ombudsman found both Ealing and Hounslow at fault for causing avoidable distress, lack of transparency, and damaging the couple’s careers. Both councils apologized and pledged reforms—though the damage was real, and the trust shattered. Listen in comfort: Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
