## Resource

Rich Rodriguez has a bold idea that could transform the future of WVU Athletics: using a portion of West Virginia’s tourism and lodging-tax revenue to help fund the Mountaineers in the new era of college sports. Could visitors coming into the Mountain State actually help WVU compete financially with the biggest programs in America? We break down Rich Rod’s tourism-money proposal, how a potential 1% lodging tax could benefit WVU Athletics, and why the idea could become one of the most important financial conversations in the state. Then we turn to the football field, where Rich Rodriguez says WVU has “co-starters” at several positions. Is that evidence of legitimate roster depth—or are major starting jobs still unsettled? We examine the competition, the importance of WVU’s second and third units, and why special teams could be loaded with players capable of contributing immediately. Tourism money, a deeper roster and competition everywhere—Rich Rod is thinking much bigger than one starting lineup. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
