## Resource

Tennessee Volunteers face major preseason snubs as only four Vols land on the All-SEC teams—all on the third squad. Can Josh Heupel’s high-powered offense and key playmakers like DeSean Bishop and Wendell Moe defy media expectations and finish above their projected 8th spot in the SEC? Eric Cain questions the media’s “lazy” picks and highlights eye-opening stats that reveal how often preseason predictions miss the mark. With the ESPN Football Power Index giving Tennessee a strong shot in key matchups, the spotlight turns to critical what-ifs: Will Heupel find his quarterback, can a rebuilt defensive line hold up, and has the transfer portal upgraded the secondary? Eric Cain breaks down Tennessee’s path to playoff contention, calls out surprising All-SEC omissions for stars like Braylon Staley and Mike Matthews, and examines whether the Vols will once again outperform their preseason ranking.
