## Resource

Which Sun Belt West coaches are building contenders—and who’s running out of time? Dave Schultz ranks every Sun Belt West coaching seat, naming Major Applewhite (South Alabama) and Bryant Vincent (ULM) as “on the clock” while examining the pressures facing new and established programs. Candid analysis highlights Applewhite’s struggle to build after Kane Wommack’s 10-win surge, Vincent’s battle with ULM’s limited resources, and whether either can spark a turnaround with tough schedules ahead. Sonny Cumbie (Louisiana Tech), Butch Jones (Arkansas State), and Michael Desormeaux (Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns) earn “established” status, but consistent bowl invites and player development are still in focus. The championship tier features Blake Anderson (Southern Miss) and Troy’s Jon Sumrall successor, Gerad Parker, pegged as the West’s best—can Troy reclaim Sun Belt glory? Schultz breaks down coaching momentum, program culture, and the road to a Sun Belt championship.
