Key Dallas Stars players Jake Oettinger and Matt Duchene face lingering injuries—could this threaten their opening night readiness? Joey Erickson breaks down the rising concerns in Dallas, examining the latest updates on Oettinger’s lower body tightness and Duchene’s ongoing maintenance issues. With Tyler Seguin’s possible return and Casey DeSmith likely stepping up as starting goalie, lineup decisions grow more intriguing as preseason wraps against the Minnesota Wild. Erickson also dissects the NHL’s surging salary cap projections, spotlighting what this means for Jason Robertson’s next contract negotiations. Will the Stars finally secure their elite scorer, or does the escalating market shift all the leverage? Additional topics include roster moves ahead of the regular season, forward depth solutions, and pivotal decisions looming for GM Jim Nill.
