## Resource

San Jose Sharks bet big on Kiefer Sherwood—can he ignite the offense in a new role? After arriving from the Vancouver Canucks and landing a 5-year, $28.75 million contract, Sherwood brought grit, scoring touch, and much-needed swagger during the playoff race. But with offseason additions like Mason Marchment, Ivar Stenberg, and Igor Chernyshov, is Sherwood headed for a shift down the lineup, and will his finishing ability remain a difference-maker? JD Young breaks down Sherwood's advanced stats—highlighting his shot-driving prowess, efficient penalty killing, and chemistry with Alex Wennberg and William Eklund—and questions whether the Sharks can get even more out of Sherwood in a middle-six role. Key topics include Sherwood's contract value, projected ice time with San Jose's deeper forward group, and his special-teams impact. Will Sherwood’s versatility keep him vital to the Sharks’ playoff ambitions?
