## Resource

Utah Mammoth dodge the $20 million contract chaos sparked by Cale Makar’s record-breaking deal—at least for now. Are Bill Armstrong’s savvy moves and some timely luck keeping Utah’s core untouchable, or is a salary cap squeeze lurking in the near future? Tom Callahan and Robin Leano break down the Mammoth’s defensive contracts, spotlighting Mikhail Sergachev, MacKenzie Weegar, and John Marino as long-term anchors. The hosts question if the 5-6 slots need a boost while exploring rookie contracts and the league-wide risk of betting big on unproven players like Fraser Minton. With escalating NHL salaries, can Utah maintain cap flexibility, or will the next wave of talent force a tough financial reckoning? Training camp storylines, the evolution of league contract trends, and the looming brothers’ saga in Minnesota all add intrigue to Utah’s strategy this season.
