## Resource

Iowa State Cyclones’ defense keeps them in the hunt for a Big 12 title, holding No. 18 Iowa to just 16 points despite challenging field position and preseason doubts. Can this high-pressure unit remain the team's foundation after a gritty performance against a top-20 offense? Nick Marovets analyzes how Iowa State’s front line, led by Sullivan Schlimgen, Carson Willock, and breakout corner Benny Ngoie, limited Iowa’s ground game and exposed the narrative that the Cyclones would be outmatched. Key topics include concerns around Iowa State’s secondary after Tony Diaz notched a game-changing 56-yard reception, injury updates on Drew Surges, Jack Janikowski, and Ngoie, and how Jimmy Rogers’ coaching keeps the defense performing at an elite level. Can the Cyclones maintain their defensive dominance in Big 12 play, or will injuries and explosive plays pose bigger challenges ahead?
