## Resource

Have Cale Makar’s contract talks with the Colorado Avalanche hit a snag? Are term limits the real barrier to a new extension? With the NHL salary cap rising and stars like Connor Bedard and Leo Carlsson opting for shorter deals, Chris Micieli and Zach Pearson debate whether Makar should maximize his earnings or lock in security for the long haul. Will Joe Sakic and Avalanche management bend, or will Makar settle for fewer years to chase a bigger payday down the line? The conversation heats up with a look at the most significant goals in Avalanche history—does Darren Helm’s game-winner against St. Louis rival Uwe Krupp’s Cup-winning overtime goal? Fans chime in with their picks, while franchise-altering moments like Patrick Roy’s fateful night in Montreal spark debate. Plus, the hosts break down The Athletic’s fan poll results on team improvements, expansion candidates, and the Avalanche’s chances for another Stanley Cup run.
