## Resource

Two young men, both 25 and from the North East, died during this year’s Great North Run — a massive event drawing 63,000 runners. Despite full medical support, officials say nothing could be done to save them, and the cause remains unknown. This tragedy echoes past incidents, like last year’s death of Sam Wealleans, who was running for mental health awareness. Organizers are offering support to grieving families while an investigation continues. The run, a symbol of community and resilience, now serves as a sobering reminder of the risks inherent in pushing physical limits — even when prepared.
