## Resource

A former police officer, Tubah Hamid, has been jailed for three years after using her access to police systems to aid her drug-dealing boyfriend—sharing secrets, helping him evade surveillance, and even assisting in a cocaine deal. Caught by authorities after calling in sick and getting into his car, she was also present during his arrest without disclosing her identity. Text messages show her giving him tactical advice to avoid cops, while internal searches revealed she’d probed four people’s records with no legitimate reason. Though she blamed her training, the judge called it a deliberate betrayal of public trust, prioritizing her boyfriend over duty. The Independent Office for Police Conduct labeled her actions audacious and corrupt, sending a stark message: no officer is above the law.
