## Resource

Liverpool Council is preparing to prosecute landowners for erecting a massive illegal green fence in Hartley’s Village — a conservation area where communal land has been shared for over a century. Despite a deadline passed and an enforcement notice demanding removal, the fence remains standing, sparking outrage from residents who say it disregards the village’s history and character. With the land sold just two years ago for $35,000, confusion surrounds the buyers’ identity, but councilors are now pushing forward with legal action and even considering compulsory purchase to restore public access and preserve the village’s heritage.
