## Resource

A Nebraska voter is fighting to keep a controversial sports gender-separation ballot measure off the November ballot, arguing the petition’s vague language misled her into signing it. The measure, if passed, would enshrine in the state constitution rules barring males from female-only athletics — a law already in place but now seeking permanence. Ullman’s legal team insists the petition’s “object statement” lacks clarity and should match the detailed standards of official ballot titles, while state officials defend its brevity as legally sufficient. With the fall ballot certification deadline looming, a district judge’s imminent ruling could decide whether voters will see this divisive proposal on their ballots.
