## Resource

Melton Mowbray’s Thorpe Road Cemetery is set for a major transformation—removing footpaths to create more burial and cremation space, ensuring families have options for decades to come. With only 286 burial and 71 cremation plots left by next April, the council’s 2027 plan aims to extend capacity for 15 years for burials and 25 for cremations, balancing practicality with respect for the cemetery’s role as a sacred community space.
