## Resource

A 52-year-old man convicted of stalking a primary school teacher for two years after she ended their affair—despite his ongoing relationship with his wife—escalated to terrifying behavior: relentless calls, messages, show-ups at her home, and even a forced entry attempt. The teacher’s daughter had to intervene, and police were called. With a prior 2008 caution for offensive messages, Marshall’s defense claimed he was remorseful and medically fragile—a “ticking time bomb”—even as his wife stood by him in court. Magistrates sentenced him to 12 months’ community order, 80 hours unpaid work, court costs, victim surcharge, and a two-year restraining order from contacting the teacher or her daughter.
