## Resource

Josh Thomas smashed his third century of the season, leading Somerset to a commanding 354 for 9 against Leicestershire on day one — a day that could cost the home side nineteen crucial points and their Division One survival hopes. Teaming up with Tom Lammonby for an explosive 181-run opening stand, Thomas and company turned a weather-disrupted start into a demolition job. Even with a makeshift Leicestershire attack, Somerset’s batting lineup roared ahead, while Nathan Gilchrist and James Rew added vital wickets and runs. Though Leicestershire clawed back nine wickets after tea, it was too little, too late — as Thomas’s brilliance signaled a team on the cusp of history, chasing their first-ever red-ball title.
