## Resource

Beefeater’s final curtain call: 106 UK restaurants, including five in the East Midlands, shut down on September 10th as Whitbread pivots to save £250 million by scaling back casual dining and boosting Premier Inn. Longtime fans say goodbye to decades of steak memories, while staff face job losses—up to 3,800 roles cut across 30,000 UK/Ireland employees—with many relocated or laid off. Former restaurant sites will become hotel rooms or be sold off, marking a major strategic shift for the iconic brand.
