## Resource

A mother and her 11-year-old daughter were struck by a car in Ottawa, Kansas, early Tuesday morning — a heartbreaking incident that also claimed the life of a dog. The teen driver, 16, stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Both victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries. This location has seen similar tragedies before, prompting renewed calls for improved pedestrian safety. Police urge everyone to stay vigilant, especially near schools and bus routes — a sobering reminder that awareness saves lives.
