## Resource

Senator Roger Marshall is sounding the alarm over President Trump’s beef import move, warning it could devastate American ranchers by depressing prices and discouraging herd expansion. While acknowledging the need to fill gaps left by Mexican cattle exports due to a screwworm outbreak, Marshall argues the policy undermines long-term domestic market health — especially as he champions his track record on trade deals like USMCA that benefit Kansas agriculture. Meanwhile, his opponent Reverend Adam Hamilton shifts focus to broader economic pressures, blaming tariffs and geopolitical instability for farm woes, and pushing for immigration reform as a solution to labor shortages and population decline — arguing that welcoming immigrants is vital for sustaining Kansas’ agricultural and restaurant sectors.
