## Resource

Colin McRoberts, a lawyer and professor, is shaking up Kansas politics by challenging the status quo in the state’s first district — a sprawling, gerrymandered seat he says was designed to keep Republicans in power through name recognition, not merit. Running in the Democratic primary against Lauren Reinhold, McRoberts is rallying Democrats, independents, and disillusioned Republicans with a message of reform, unity, and accountability. His background in teaching negotiation and conspiracy theory psychology informs his call for more honest dialogue in politics. He’s focused on energizing rural voters, proving Democrats can win outside urban centers — backed by strong fundraising that signals a new standard for the party. On policy, he opposes harmful tariffs, defends international development programs, and urges Congress to reclaim its role in checking executive power. This isn’t just a campaign for office — it’s a blueprint for transforming how Democrats compete in rural America, one coalition at a time.
