## Resource

In week two of his latest sermon series, Pastor Daniel Strosnider tackles one of the most deceptive and dangerous forms of pride — controlling pride — unpacking how it disguises itself not as arrogance, but as strength, self-sufficiency, and responsibility, all while quietly keeping God at arm's length. Drawing from Proverbs 16:18 and Daniel 4, Pastor Daniel walks the congregation through four key manifestations of controlling pride: self-sufficiency, elevating self, anxiety-driven decision making, and role reversal — where the created begins to command the Creator. Using the striking story of King Nebuchadnezzar, who lost his kingdom, his sanity, and his dignity until he finally looked up and surrendered, Pastor Daniel reminds us that God will lovingly dismantle our illusions of control, because He loves us too much to let us remain deluded about who is truly in charge.
