First, we do a historical overview of The Troubles in Northern Ireland from the 1960's till the 1998 Good Friday Agreement. We talk about women's involvement in active combat, as nurses or safe spaces, as lobbyists and politicians, and finally as peace makers. Then we dive into a summary of both Liberian Civil Wars, what caused the conflict, and how women eventually were the driving force behind lasting peace through public rallies, marches, and sex strikes? Whether women are fighting, healing, or negotiating, women have played important roles in conflict history around the world, but their stories are often forgotten. I am so excited to be bringing you two successful examples today of women's role in peace.
