A few months ago, a few others in the independent space and I were attacked online in what appeared to be orchestrated friendly fire. Why? Because after I went to China last year and came back impressed with the country, a group of independent media folks didn't like that I didn't describe China as a totalitarian, technocratic hellhole. Matt Ehret is a historian, researcher, and filmmaker who has also been attacked for similar reasons. He wrote a scathing Substack post in which he explained the problem with the entire anti-China narrative and how it plays into the hands of the elites trying to control us.
