In Iranian Retaliation, Iranian state news agency Pars reported hours ago that the Iranian Navy attacked a United States destroyer, on which a US command and control center is installed. The destroyer was said to have been attacked in the Gulf of Oman after attempting to approach Iran’s territorial waters. Tehran’s reports also said it struck several US Navy ships in the Gulf of Oman in the hours prior. In Regional Impacts, the British government has removed Israel from its “no travel” list for the first time since June 2025, ending the blanket travel advisory to Israel. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office no longer advises against all travel to Israel but continues to advise against all travel to Gaza, areas within 500 meters of the Gaza border, parts of the West Bank (Tulkarm, Jenin, and Tubas), and parts of northern Israel and the Golan Heights. For other parts of the West Bank, travel is advised against all but essential travel. The move could have very positive implications for tourism to Israel and for British travelers’ ability to obtain insurance.
